Welcome
to our first stop on the tour.
The
view from the street reveals this house's classic yet modern
profile. The high pitched roof, steeply raked windows, and shingle
siding are all recognizable elements of a house designed by
Charles Moorhead.
This
house is the first on the west coast to use 'Teal Cedar' hemlock
sidewall shingles, which are pre-treated at the factory.

Copper
is used extensively throughout the house, no where more noticeably
than on the chimney.
Notice
the large number of mature trees on the lot. Although it made
the construction and design process more difficult, special
care was made to preserve the lot's existing trees.

The
view from the alley shows the small matching garage and carport
as well as the many west-facing windows that add natural light
to the interior.
